Anua Niacinamide 10 TXA 4 Serum: a researched review
Updated September 8, 2026
The useful question about Anua's pink serum is what it would replace. If your bathroom already holds a niacinamide serum, an arbutin serum and a separate dark-spot serum, this bottle has considerable overlap. If you're choosing your first product for uneven-looking tone, its combination of ingredients may be appealing—but the large percentages on the label don't tell you how your skin will respond.
Our take: Anua Niacinamide 10 TXA 4 Serum is worth considering as one targeted step for dark-mark appearance. It's a less obvious purchase when you already have a comfortable routine serving that purpose, or when your main concern is simply dryness. This is a researched Anua niacinamide serum review, based on current US product information and published accounts, rather than a personal wear test.
Which Anua serum are we reviewing?
This is Niacinamide 10 TXA 4 Serum, the 30 mL pink bottle with a dropper. Anua's current US listing declares 10% niacinamide, 4% tranexamic acid and 2% arbutin. It is separate from the brand's Peach 70 serum and other pink products; matching the color alone isn't enough. Check the full product name when comparing shops or watching an older review.
At our September 8, 2026 check, Anua listed the 30 mL bottle at $24, while Ulta listed its 1.01 fl oz size at $22. Those are product prices before tax or shipping, and promotions can change. A two-dollar difference is useful only after you've confirmed the same size and formula. Ulta's US listing
The format is a leave-on serum, used before moisturizer. It doesn't replace cleansing or daytime sunscreen, and the ingredient list alone can't establish whether it will provide enough hydration for you without your usual cream.
What the formula tells us
The main appeal is the combination: you can try niacinamide, tranexamic acid and arbutin in one finished formula instead of assembling three separate bottles. That makes the routine easier to manage. It doesn't prove this blend outperforms every simpler serum, or that using more of it will produce faster results. If you're deciding between formulas, compare Korean niacinamide serums for differences in concentrations, supporting ingredients and price.
There is a small but useful label distinction here. Anua declares 2% arbutin, while the full ingredient list separately names both Arbutin and Alpha-Arbutin. The brand's statement does not establish a 2% alpha-arbutin concentration. Listings that casually swap those names make the formula sound more precisely quantified than the information supports.
Beyond those headline ingredients, the current list includes glycerin, several forms of hyaluronic acid, panthenol, ceramide NP and plant oils, including macadamia and jojoba oils. It also lists betaine salicylate and a vitamin C derivative, 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid. Their individual percentages aren't supplied. Seeing those names does not tell us this is equivalent to a dedicated exfoliant or vitamin C serum.
Anua describes the texture as watery and lightweight and labels it fragrance-free; fragrance and parfum aren't named in the current ingredient list. Those are useful shopping details. The serum still contains a substantial mixture of ingredients, so fragrance-free should never be read as a promise that it cannot irritate your skin. If you avoid a particular ingredient, check the full list on the product you receive.
For the evidence behind the ingredient rather than this particular bottle, our tranexamic acid guide explains why studies of different finished formulas can't be treated as interchangeable results.
What can the published reviews actually tell you?
They offer clues about how individual people found the product, especially its packaging and feel. They are much less reliable for predicting how quickly your own marks will change.
In a Woman & Home review, tester Jenny Church used the serum for seven days. She reported improved texture and plumpness but explicitly said it was too soon to judge her age spots. That distinction is helpful: liking the way skin feels after application isn't the same outcome as seeing a lasting change in pigmentation. Woman & Home's review
Who What Wear's Shawna Hudson described seeing a dark spot improve after four days, while also using other products from the brand that promised brightening. That account cannot isolate what the serum contributed. It also doesn't establish a four-day expectation for another person. Who What Wear's Anua review
Neither account is a controlled comparison, and combining them wouldn't produce a meaningful average result. We haven't turned these stories—or a retailer's star rating—into an efficacy score.
The same care applies to clinical-sounding product copy. Ulta lists a skin irritation test and a skin-tone improvement figure after two weeks, but its product page doesn't provide the participant count, comparison group or enough measurement detail to judge the result independently. It would be misleading to translate that short summary into a promise that your dark spots will fade on schedule.
Find its place in the routine you already have
Before buying, put your current leave-on products in front of you. This is the decision that matters more than the size of the number on Anua's label.
You use a separate niacinamide serum. Treat Anua as a possible replacement, rather than an automatic addition. If your present serum is comfortable and doing the job you bought it for, a higher concentration or another ingredient isn't, by itself, a reason to switch. Replacing one product also makes it easier to notice whether the change suits you.
You already use several products for uneven tone. List their ingredients before adding this one. Niacinamide, arbutin or tranexamic acid may already appear across your toner, serum and moisturizer. Overlap doesn't automatically make a routine wrong, but it can mean you're paying for another version of the same intended step. You cannot calculate a meaningful total “face percentage” by adding the concentrations on separate bottles.
You mainly want relief from tight, dry-feeling skin. A targeted brightening serum may not be the most useful place to spend first. Check whether your cleanser and moisturizer leave you comfortable before buying another serum because its reviews mention glow.
You have dark marks and no dedicated serum. This is the clearest reason to consider Anua. Keep the other products you already tolerate steady while you introduce it. You'll have a better chance of judging the purchase than if you replace your whole routine at once.
Your skin is currently stinging or reacting to products. Put the new serum aside for now. The American Academy of Dermatology notes that irritating skincare can itself contribute to dark spots. Pushing through discomfort is a poor trade when more even-looking tone is the goal. AAD guidance on dark spots
How to use Anua Niacinamide 10 TXA 4 Serum
Anua's current US directions say to apply a few drops to the areas you want to address, pat gently, and use before moisturizer in the morning or evening. The Ulta directions also say to start with a small amount and increase use gradually. Morning and evening are permitted times; they aren't a requirement to begin with twice-daily use.
In practice, apply it after cleansing and any toner you already use, then follow with moisturizer. If you're trying it in the morning, finish with sunscreen. Anua specifies SPF 30 or higher for daytime use. The serum itself supplies no labeled sun protection.
Try the complete product on a small area before making it a regular step. The AAD recommends testing new skincare on a small area for seven to ten days, following the product's normal amount and use instructions. This can help you spot a reaction; it isn't a guarantee against future irritation or a substitute for medical allergy testing. AAD guidance on testing skincare
You don't need to add an exfoliating toner, a second brightening serum or other products from Anua to make this bottle a complete purchase. If you're already following a prescribed routine, ask the prescriber about adding it instead of rearranging that plan around a cosmetic review.
Stop if the product causes burning, stinging or a rash. New breakouts aren't proof that it is working, and a review saying it didn't cause breakouts for someone else can't promise the same for you.
Deciding whether to buy it again
Keep the question you bought it to answer in view. Was that a particular dark mark, uneven-looking tone, or simply a preference for one serum instead of several? Those are different reasons to keep or finish a bottle.
An occasional photo in the same light, with the same camera settings and no filter, can make changes easier to compare than daily mirror checks. Even then, sunscreen use, other skincare and time can influence what you see; a home photo won't prove the serum caused the difference.
Judge comfort and routine fit alongside appearance. A serum that feels pleasant but hasn't changed the concern you bought it for may still be enjoyable, but you don't owe it a second bottle because the reviews were enthusiastic. If discoloration persists despite your efforts, a dermatologist can help identify its cause and appropriate options. For this purchase, the strongest case is straightforward: you want this particular combination in one serum, have room for it in your routine, and can evaluate it without expecting someone else's timeline.
How to use azelaic acid: apply after toner on dry skin, start once or twice a week and finish with SPF. Compare Anua, Medicube and Centellian24 10% serums.
