COSRX Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser is worth considering if you like a foaming wash and want salicylic acid in that rinse-off step. It is less straightforward if your skin already feels tight after cleansing, you avoid aromatic oils, or you're looking for a clearly labeled US acne treatment.
Our recommendation is to check the version first, then judge the wash by how it fits your existing routine. The current Korean product has a recognizable red label, a 150 ml size and a packshot stating 0.5% salicylic acid. Those details help identify it. They don't tell us how it will feel on your skin or establish US drug labeling.
We researched current manufacturer information, product images, retailer listings and published reviews on September 8, 2026. We haven't tested the cleanser ourselves or measured its effect on breakouts.
First, make sure you're looking at the right cleanser
The product reviewed here is Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser, the white tube with a red label and black cap. COSRX still lists the 150 ml product on its .
It is a separate product from Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser and AC Collection Calming Foam Cleanser. Similar ingredients or an “upgrade” description on a shopping page don't make them interchangeable versions of the same tube.
The old COSRX.com product address returned a missing page during our check. That alone doesn't establish worldwide discontinuation. The Korean listing remains accessible, and StyleKorean displayed the named 150 ml cleanser in its US shipping view. A seller offering delivery to the US is a different kind of evidence from a verified US treatment label. StyleKorean's current product listing.
If an older review shows a different ingredient list, check the package being sold now. Don't use its publication date or familiar tube design as proof of the exact formula you'll receive.
What the 0.5% statement tells you
The packshot on COSRX's Korean site states 0.5% salicylic acid. We can report that manufacturer statement without turning it into a promise that the cleanser will clear acne, remove blackheads or suit sensitive skin.
Salicylic acid is relevant to the pore-care conversation: the American Academy of Dermatology notes that it can help unclog pores and that some salicylic acid cleansers can be used daily. It also notes that they can cause dryness or irritation. That is guidance about the ingredient and product category, not a clinical assessment of this COSRX formula. AAD's pore-care advice.
We couldn't verify a current US Drug Facts panel for this named cleanser. If your goal is an OTC acne treatment, look for the active ingredient, intended uses, warnings and directions on the actual US label. The FDA explains what those sections mean. A percentage on the front of a Korean package doesn't replace them.
Our salicylic acid guide goes further into the ingredient. For this purchase, keep the question smaller: do you want it in a face wash, and does the rest of this formula fit your preferences?
The rest of the formula matters
The current Korean full ingredient table begins with water, glycerin, myristic acid, stearic acid and potassium hydroxide. It also lists cleansing ingredients including sodium methyl cocoyl taurate and cocamidopropyl betaine, alongside willow bark water and salicylic acid. You are buying a complete cleansing formula, not a diluted bottle of salicylic acid.
Tea tree leaf oil, lemon peel oil and limonene also appear in that Korean list. If you deliberately avoid aromatic oils or fragrance ingredients, this wouldn't be our first suggestion. The word “gentle” doesn't settle that choice, and a pleasant scent for one reviewer may be something another person wants to avoid. COSRX's current ingredient information.
The English ingredient panel in the brand's long product graphic differs slightly from its Korean panel and text table. We haven't treated all online lists as an exact match or assigned a reformulation date. If ingredient avoidance is important for you, ask the seller for a clear photo of the full list on the package it will supply.
How to use it
The Korean manufacturer's instructions are simple: gently massage onto a wet face, then rinse with lukewarm water. They don't specify a measured dose, a fixed contact time or a requirement to leave foam sitting on the skin. COSRX's illustrated directions.
Use enough to spread comfortably, rinse it away thoroughly and follow with your usual skincare. You don't need to keep adding cleanser because the bubbles look less impressive than a product demonstration. Nor would we borrow a blogger's sixty-second rule and present it as the official instruction.
Use your fingertips rather than a scrub brush or rough washcloth. The AAD recommends gentle, nonabrasive cleansing for acne-prone skin and warns that scrubbing tools can irritate it. If makeup remains after washing, address its removal separately instead of repeatedly scrubbing the same areas. Our Korean face wash guide helps separate those cleansing jobs. AAD's acne skin-care tips.
Does “Daily Gentle” mean twice a day for everyone?
No. The name isn't a personal schedule. A cleanser can be convenient for daily use and still be more than your skin wants at a particular time.
Introduce it in place of an existing wash, with the rest of your routine familiar. If salicylic acid makes skin dry or irritated, the AAD suggests alternating it with a mild cleanser. You don't need two acid cleansers because one says morning and another says daily. AAD's guidance on cleanser frequency.
Stop using a product that causes a reaction. Repeated tightness, stinging or flaking is a reason to reassess the routine, not evidence that you should cleanse more thoroughly. If you're already following an acne-treatment plan, ask your clinician or pharmacist how this wash fits before changing that plan. Our routine for acne-prone skin keeps everyday care and treatment decisions clear.
How it differs from Low pH Good Morning
Low pH Good Morning is a gel cleanser with a different ingredient list. The current COSRX.com page names betaine salicylate and tea tree oil and describes a mildly acidic pH. Its directions allow morning and evening use after makeup removal; “Good Morning” doesn't restrict it to breakfast time. COSRX's Low pH Good Morning page.
Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser names salicylic acid itself. We didn't verify an exact current pH for it, so we wouldn't borrow the Good Morning product's number or assume that the word “acid” establishes its finished pH.
Choose between them by the full formula and the kind of wash you prefer. Good Morning isn't a fragrance-avoidance answer simply because it has a different name; its current list also contains tea tree oil. For the wider range, our COSRX skincare guide separates cleansers from hydrating products, exfoliants and patches.
Value and the decision to buy
The current 150 ml size gives you a clear basis for comparing offers. At our September 8 check, StyleKorean's product page displayed a $13 regular price and an $11.70 offer in its US view, before delivery or tax. Offers and checkout totals can change. We wouldn't estimate months of use from another reviewer's experience or buy several tubes before knowing that the formula suits us. Dated retailer price reference.
Before ordering, make three checks: the tube is the named cleanser, the seller can show its current ingredients, and you have a clear reason to change your existing wash. After introducing it, pay attention to rinsing and comfort rather than the amount of foam. That gives this cleanser a fair chance without asking it to do the work of an entire acne routine.
Compare three Korean face washes by their verified ingredients, cleansing role, and formula tradeoffs. Choose a comfortable fit for your everyday routine.
