A 10ml eye serum that comes in a slim tube with a polished steel rollerball at the tip, made for the thin skin around the eyes. AXIS-Y calls the texture Melting Dew: it is fluid and light rather than rich, so it sinks in within seconds and leaves no film behind. One pump is enough for both eyes, and the cool metal ball glides along the orbital bone morning or evening.

Niacinamide and adenosine sit near the top of the ingredient list, followed by collagen at 450 ppm and three forms of hyaluronic acid — sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid and sodium acetylated hyaluronate — which hold water at different weights. Five peptides run alongside them, among them copper tripeptide-1 and acetyl hexapeptide-8, with a fruit blend of apple, plum, grape, papaya and fig, plus ceramide NP and three seed oils.

It suits anyone whose under-eye area reads creased or shadowed by mid-afternoon and who finds a rich eye cream too heavy to wear under concealer. Do I use this in the morning or at night?

Either, or both. There are no acids, retinoids or sunscreen filters in it, so nothing about the formula restricts the time of day, and AXIS-Y describes it as daily eye care. In the morning, apply it after your serum and before sunscreen. At night, apply it after essence and before your last cream. If you would rather use it once a day, most people pick the evening.

How much do I need, and how long does 10ml last?

One pump covers both eyes, and the applicator meters that dose for you, so overusing it takes real effort. Squeeze the tube once, then work the roller around one eye and the other. At a pump or two a day, a 10ml tube generally runs between two and three months. That is normal for eye products at this size, so the small tube is not as small as it looks.

Can I use it alongside retinol or vitamin C?

Yes. Niacinamide, peptides and hyaluronic acid all layer comfortably with other actives, and nothing here conflicts with a retinoid or an ascorbic acid serum. If your eye area is new to retinol, apply the retinoid first, let it settle for a minute, then roll this over the top. The extra water usually makes the retinoid easier to wear through the night.

Will it pill under makeup or sunscreen?

Rarely, as long as you let it absorb. The texture is watery rather than waxy and carries only small amounts of seed oil, so it sits flat on skin. Pilling almost always comes from layering the next product too soon, or from using more than one pump. Give it twenty or thirty seconds, then pat once with a fingertip before concealer goes on.

Does the metal rollerball need cleaning?

It helps. The ball meets skin every day, so wipe it with a clean tissue before you cap the tube, and give it an occasional pass with a cotton pad. Avoid running the applicator under a tap, because water can travel back down into the nozzle. Keeping the cap on between uses is enough to stop dust settling on the tip.

Can I use it anywhere besides my eyes?

Yes, and AXIS-Y suggests exactly that. The same pump works on smile lines around the mouth, the two vertical lines between the brows, and horizontal forehead creases — anywhere fine lines bother you. The roller is small enough to stay precise on those spots. Keep the serum out of the eyes themselves, and expect the tube to empty faster if you cover a wider area.
