Best Korean PDRN serum: Medicube for most, COSRX for value (six compared)
Updated October 22, 2026
For most shoppers, the best Korean PDRN serum is Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum: $20.99 for 30 ml, with salmon-derived PDRN high on its ingredient list, five peptides and niacinamide, plus an Ultra Light version for oily skin. If you want the most PDRN serum for your money, COSRX 5 PDRN Collagen Intense Vitalizing Serum gives you 100 ml for $16.99, and if your skin is dry rather than just thirsty, VT PDRN Essence 100 is the milkier, ceramide-rich choice.
The rest of the shortlist each has one clear job. Isntree Gim PDRN Hydro Bouncy Ampoule is the cheapest bottle, a water-jelly with seaweed-sourced PDRN. Tiam PDRN Collagen Glow Up Serum is the only one of the six where we found a printed PDRN amount. Centellian24 PDRN Firming Boosting Ampoule adds retinol for readers who want firming care in a single step.
This is a researched comparison of current US brand and Sleepy Hello product information, checked October 2026. We haven't worn or tested these serums; texture descriptions are each brand's, and the buying advice comes from comparing ingredient lists, PDRN sources, directions, sizes and prices.
What is PDRN in Korean skincare?
PDRN stands for polydeoxyribonucleotide: short fragments of DNA, traditionally purified from salmon or trout milt, the fish's reproductive cells. That is where the "salmon DNA" nickname comes from. On an ingredient list it usually appears as Sodium DNA.
Korean brands use it as a skin-conditioning ingredient and describe what it does in cosmetic terms: skin that looks plumper, bouncier and smoother. Several brands now sell plant-sourced versions too. In this group, VT points to Korean wild ginseng and Isntree to gim seaweed. Tiam pairs Sodium DNA with camellia flower water and extracts but doesn't say where the Sodium DNA comes from. The label name rarely tells you the source; only the brand's description does.
Two things matter when you compare bottles. First, every serum here pairs PDRN with familiar humectants (ingredients that hold water in the skin) such as glycerin or hyaluronic acid, which do much of the day-to-day hydrating. Second, Tiam is the only one where we found a printed PDRN amount. Position on the list is a rough clue at best, because labeling rules let ingredients at 1% or less appear in any order.

Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum vs VT PDRN Essence 100: which should you buy?
Buy the Medicube if you want PDRN with peptides and niacinamide in a light serum at about $0.70 per ml. Buy the VT if your skin is dry and you want a milkier, more cushioning layer with ceramides, and you don't mind paying about $0.97 per ml.
Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum, original and Ultra Light
The Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum, 30 ml costs $20.99 at Sleepy Hello, checked October 2026. Its first ingredients are water, glycerin, dipropylene glycol, isopropyl myristate (a light emollient), glycereth-26, niacinamide and 1,2-hexanediol, with Sodium DNA in eighth place, higher than in the VT, Isntree or Centellian24 formulas. Medicube identifies the PDRN as salmon-derived.
The peptide list is the main reason to choose it: palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, palmitoyl tripeptide-1, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, copper tripeptide-1 and acetyl hexapeptide-8. Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) gives the serum its pink color, and Medicube says it shouldn't stain skin. The formula also includes milt extract, salmon egg extract, hydrolyzed collagen and atelocollagen.
Medicube's directions are 2 to 3 drops after toner over the face and neck, morning, evening or both, before moisturizer, with sunscreen during the day. You can add one or two thin extra layers when skin wants more moisture.
If you have oily or combination skin, look at the Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum Ultra Light, 30 ml at $18.99. Medicube describes it as watery and non-sticky, with a fresh rather than dewy finish, and says it is made without artificial fragrance or colorants. Sodium DNA moves up to seventh, just after niacinamide and 1,2-hexanediol, and the formula adds Ceramide NP, cholesterol and eight hyaluronic acid forms. Its peptide set differs from the original's.
VT PDRN Essence 100
The VT PDRN Essence 100, 30 ml costs $28.99, checked October 2026. VT builds its PDRN story on what it calls Phyto PDRN Panax, from Korean wild ginseng. Panax ginseng root extract is the third ingredient, while Sodium DNA is the last one listed, and VT doesn't say where that comes from.
It is richer in emollients than the Medicube: isopropyl myristate, caprylic/capric triglyceride and cetyl ethylhexanoate sit in the top five, with sunflower and baobab seed oils and squalane further down. It also carries five ceramides (NP, NS, AS, EOP and AP), niacinamide, panthenol and adenosine. VT describes the texture as smooth and milky, absorbing quickly into a moisturized, glowing layer, and calls the formula unscented.
VT's directions are to smooth it on after cleansing, morning or night. It can also go on as a makeup primer, or you can mix 1 to 3 drops into foundation.
Our take
For most readers, the Medicube is the better buy: cheaper per ml, five peptides where the VT has none, and an Ultra Light sibling for oily skin. The VT earns its higher price if your skin is dry, you like a milky essence that doubles as a primer, or you want an unscented formula with ceramides.
The best-value picks: COSRX 5 PDRN and Isntree Gim PDRN
If price per ml decides it, these two cost a fraction of the 30 ml bottles.
COSRX 5 PDRN Collagen Intense Vitalizing Serum
The COSRX 5 PDRN Collagen Intense Vitalizing Serum, 100 ml is $16.99, about $0.17 per ml, checked October 2026. The "5" refers to five PDRN sources: salmon, Centella asiatica, rice, Lactobacillus and sea grapes. COSRX pairs them with hydrolyzed collagen at 200 Da (daltons, a measure of molecular size) and eight forms of hyaluronic acid.
It leans toward tone as much as bounce. Niacinamide and alpha-arbutin are there for the look of uneven tone and dark spots, with panthenol and allantoin for comfort. COSRX describes the serum as lightweight and quick-absorbing. The directions are simple: apply an appropriate amount at the serum step and massage until absorbed.
One gap: our product page doesn't print the full ingredient list, and the COSRX product page leads with key ingredients. Neither gives a PDRN amount that we could find, so check the box for the complete list.
Isntree Gim PDRN Hydro Bouncy Ampoule
The Isntree Gim PDRN Hydro Bouncy Ampoule, 50 ml is the cheapest bottle here at $13.99, about $0.28 per ml, checked October 2026. Isntree says its PDRN comes from gim, a Korean seaweed grown in Wando. The label lists both gim (Porphyra yezoensis extract) and Sodium DNA.
This is a hydration-first formula. The list opens with water, butylene glycol, glycerin, 1,2-hexanediol, pentylene glycol and betaine (another humectant), with carbomer giving the gel its body. Further down are beta-glucan, squalane, collagen, two more seaweeds and eight forms of hyaluronic acid. The ingredient list doesn't include fragrance.
Isntree calls the texture a bouncy water-jelly that absorbs quickly without stickiness. Apply it after toner and pat it in with your fingertips. It suits oily or combination skin that still feels dehydrated, or a first try of PDRN under $15.
Tiam PDRN Collagen Glow Up Serum: a printed PDRN amount
The Tiam PDRN Collagen Glow Up Serum, 30 ml costs $23.99, about $0.80 per ml, checked October 2026. Unusually for this group, it prints its numbers: a Camellia PDRN Solution at 50%, made largely of camellia flower water (45%), with Sodium DNA at 50 ppm, or 0.005%.
That small figure is a useful reminder that a PDRN serum is mostly a hydrating base. Here the base is glycereth-26, glycerin and sodium hyaluronate, with niacinamide, panthenol, allantoin and ascorbyl glucoside, a vitamin C derivative. Tiam adds hydrolyzed collagen and the same five peptides as the Medicube original.
Tiam says it made the serum with mature, dry and dehydrated skin in mind. The format is pink jelly capsules suspended in a light serum. Tiam's directions are to apply it after toner, press the capsules in until absorbed, and use it morning and evening with sunscreen by day. The brand describes the finish as soft, silky and refreshing, and suggests it as a base before makeup.
Centellian24 PDRN Firming Boosting Ampoule: PDRN with retinol
The Centellian24 PDRN Firming Boosting Ampoule, 30 ml is the most expensive per ml at $29.99, about $1.00 per ml, checked October 2026. What sets it apart is the last ingredient on the list: retinol. Centellian24 identifies its PDRN as salmon-derived and pairs it with niacinamide, Ceramide NP, hydrolyzed collagen, hydrolyzed elastin, adenosine and palmitoyl pentapeptide-4.
Silicones (bis-PEG-18 methyl ether dimethyl silane, cyclohexasiloxane and a dimethicone crosspolymer) give it slip, and Centellian24 notes that applying too much can feel slightly tacky. Its directions are a thin layer after toner over the face and neck, morning or evening, with sunscreen by day. If you already use another retinoid, the brand says to alternate rather than layer them in the same session, and to patch test before first use.
Choose it if you want firming-focused care and retinol in one step. Skip it if you avoid retinol for any reason, including pregnancy, or already have a retinoid routine you like.
Which Korean PDRN serum is best for dry, dehydrated skin?
For dry skin, meaning skin that feels tight and short on oil, VT PDRN Essence 100 is our pick, because its emollients, squalane and five ceramides add the cushion a water-based gel can't. Tiam is the second choice: lighter, but aimed by the brand at dry and dehydrated skin.
Dehydrated skin is different. It is short on water rather than oil, and it can be oily at the same time. For that, the Isntree water-jelly or the Medicube Ultra Light gives you hydration without extra richness. Either way, follow with a moisturizer; none of these brands positions its serum as a replacement for one.

Pick Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum ($20.99 for 30 ml, $0.70 per ml) for the best all-round balance of PDRN, peptides, niacinamide and price.
Is a PDRN serum the same as a PDRN or salmon DNA injection?
No. Clinic PDRN or "salmon DNA" injections are medical procedures in which a practitioner places a sterile preparation into the skin. A serum is a cosmetic you spread on the surface. Most published research on PDRN concerns injected and medical uses, and evidence for PDRN applied in a cosmetic serum is limited. None of the six brands claims its serum matches an injection, and our Centellian24 product page calls it a cosmetic ampoule, not a professional procedure.
Can you use a PDRN serum with retinol or vitamin C?
Yes, in most routines. PDRN isn't an acid or an exfoliant, so the caution comes from the retinol or vitamin C rather than the PDRN. In the morning, apply vitamin C first, then the PDRN serum, moisturizer and sunscreen. At night, apply the PDRN serum before moisturizer on retinol nights, or use it on the nights in between. Medicube suggests introducing strong actives gradually, and Centellian24 already contains retinol, so don't layer it with another retinoid. Our guides to Korean retinol and vitamin C serums cover those steps.
Is PDRN vegan?
Salmon-derived PDRN is not vegan, which rules out both Medicube serums, the COSRX and the Centellian24. Plant-sourced PDRN from ginseng or seaweed can be, but the whole formula decides it: Isntree lists collagen, Tiam lists hydrolyzed collagen and doesn't name its Sodium DNA source, and none of the six brands describes its serum as vegan on our product pages.
How long does a 30 ml PDRN serum last?
Roughly two to four months used once a day, or one to two months used morning and night. Brands don't publish an applications count, so that estimate assumes 0.25 to 0.5 ml per use; Medicube's 2 to 3 drops is less, while extra layers or covering your neck use more. At the same dose, the COSRX 100 ml bottle lasts more than three times as long.
COSRX Snail 96 is the best snail mucin for most; the 92 cream suits one-step routines. Six Korean alternatives compared by filtrate %, texture and price.
Anua's PDRN capsule serum is the oil-free hyaluronic acid pick with 100 ppm PDRN; Medicube's Pink Peptide Serum adds peptides and emollients for dry skin.
