Mixsoon Bean Cream review: formula, sizes and value
Updated September 8, 2026
Mixsoon Bean Cream comes in a 50 ml jar and a 65 ml tube. The tube gives you more cream and a different way to dispense it, but neither the bigger size nor the fermented-bean story settles whether you should buy it.
Our take: it belongs on a shortlist for someone who wants a richer moisturizer and is comfortable using a formula with aromatic plant oils. If you avoid fragrance, or specifically want a ceramide cream, there are clearer choices. The ingredient details matter here because some of the current product descriptions are incomplete or inconsistent.
This is a researched review of current US brand and retailer information, checked September 8, 2026. We haven't worn or tested the cream. Texture descriptions below are identified as the brand's; the buying advice comes from comparing the formulas, directions, packaging and prices.
What kind of moisturizer is Bean Cream?
Mixsoon describes Bean Cream as rich yet lightweight, with quick absorption and a nongreasy finish. It positions the cream for dry, dehydrated or rough-feeling skin. That makes it worth considering if you enjoy a creamy final layer, especially when a lighter moisturizer leaves you wanting more. It doesn't establish how it will sit under your particular sunscreen or makeup. .
The name puts soybean ferment first in your mind. The full formula gives a more useful picture: glycerin sits near the beginning, alongside caprylic/capric triglyceride and hydrogenated polyisobutene. Meadowfoam seed oil, panthenol and hydrogenated lecithin also appear. These are part of the cream you're buying, alongside the ferments; this isn't simply Bean Essence made thicker. For a broader look at creamy and lighter options, our Korean moisturizer comparison explains where different formulas fit. Bean Cream is one option within that decision, rather than a reason to replace a moisturizer you already like.
Read the ingredients beyond “bean”
The current complete lists name ferments derived from soybean, pomegranate, barley and pear. Their presence doesn't reveal their individual concentrations or let us predict that this cream will outperform another moisturizer. We couldn't verify a percentage for any of them.
There is also a shopping-page mismatch worth knowing about. Ulta's highlighted ingredients mention shea butter and ceramides, but neither appears in the complete ingredient list displayed on that same page. We wouldn't choose Bean Cream specifically to get those ingredients. Check the full list rather than relying on the highlighted box. Ulta's Bean Cream listing.
The formula records aren't completely aligned either. Ulta and Soko Glam display matching complete lists for the 50 ml size. The official Essence-and-Cream set includes a complete cream list with ingredients in a different order. Meanwhile, the brand's standalone 50 ml and 65 ml lists cut off partway through the final lavender ingredient.
That isn't enough evidence to announce a reformulation, date a formula change, or promise that every jar and tube contains an identical formula. If you need to avoid a particular ingredient, ask for the complete label on the size and batch being sold. The official set's separate formulas are useful context, but they cannot settle what is printed on an individual tube.
Is Mixsoon Bean Cream fragrance-free?
We wouldn't describe it that way. The complete cream lists include bergamot fruit oil, lavender oil and Anthemis nobilis flower oil. Mixsoon's wording is “No Artificial Fragrance,” which doesn't mean the formula contains no aromatic plant ingredients. Mixsoon's 50 ml page, Soko Glam's ingredients.
That distinction is particularly useful if you already know fragranced skincare bothers you. The word “bean,” a vegan label or a botanical ingredient story won't answer that concern. You don't need to try this cream simply because you've enjoyed another Mixsoon product.
If fragrance avoidance guides your shopping, start with the full-label comparisons in our moisturizers for sensitive skin guide. An ingredient list can help you rule something out; it can't guarantee that anything left on the shortlist will suit you.
The 50 ml jar versus the 65 ml tube
The current official packaging images show a jar for 50 ml and a squeeze tube for 65 ml. The cover photo here shows the 65 ml tube. Pick the dispensing style you prefer, then compare the actual price offered for that size.
At the US brand prices checked on September 8, 2026:
50 ml costs $35: $0.70 per ml.
65 ml costs $40: about $0.62 per ml.
On those prices alone, another $5 buys 15 ml more. The tube has the lower unit price, while the jar requires less money upfront. Official 50 ml listing, official 65 ml listing.
But compare across retailers before deciding that the bigger pack is better value. At the same check, Ulta listed its 1.69 oz size at $24. That's a lower price for the smaller size than the brand's $35 listing. Prices can change, and these comparisons exclude tax and shipping. The amount you use also determines how long either package lasts; we can't turn the size into a reliable number of applications. Ulta's current listing.
Sleepy Hello has separate pages for the 50 ml Bean Cream and 65 ml Bean Cream. Check the selected size and current details before ordering.
Do you need Bean Essence as well?
No. The two products have different formulas and routine roles. Bean Essence is a separate hydrating step; Bean Cream is the moisturizer that follows lighter products. The brand's set instructions put essence before cream, but selling them together doesn't make both necessary. Mixsoon's Essence-and-Cream set.
If you already have a toner or serum you enjoy, you can keep it and assess the cream on its own. If you've only used Bean Essence, check the cream's ingredients separately, especially the aromatic oils. And leave the essence's massage method with the essence: Bean Cream's directions are to apply and let it absorb, not rub it until residue appears.
Our Bean Essence review covers its leave-on and massage methods, including why visible residue isn't a measure of pore cleaning.
How to use it without overcomplicating your routine
Apply the cream after your lighter skincare and spread it gently over the face. Let it absorb. Mixsoon allows two or three layers when extra moisture is wanted, but that is an option, not a required serving size. Start with one layer so you can judge whether you want more. Mixsoon's directions.
For morning use, judge that amount with the sunscreen and makeup you actually wear. If several new products go on at once, it's harder to work out which combination feels too heavy or rolls up. For evening use, pay attention to whether your usual dry-feeling areas feel adequately moisturized, rather than trying to recreate a very shiny finish from a video.
Before introducing a new skincare product, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends testing a small area twice daily for seven to ten days. Stop if a reaction develops. That check can help you spot a problem, though it isn't a guarantee of future tolerance. AAD's product-testing advice.
Who would we put it on the shortlist for?
Bean Cream is worth a closer look when you want a creamy moisturizer, recognize ingredients you've used comfortably before, and like the choice of a jar or tube. Its appeal is that combination of formula and format. The ferments are an additional point of interest, not a measurable advantage established by this review.
We'd look elsewhere if avoiding fragrance is a priority, if you're shopping specifically for ceramides, or if you strongly prefer a gel. If the formula fits your preferences, the final decision is practical: choose the packaging you'll enjoy using, then compare the price for that exact size. A familiar cream at a sensible price is a better purchase than a larger pack you'll hesitate to use.
The original 365 Cream suits dry, sensitive skin; Cream Plus is richer and Hydro Soothing is a light gel. Ceramides, fragrance, sizes and prices compared.
