Best Korean BB cream: Dr. Jart+, Heimish, Cell Fusion C and four more by SPF and finish
Updated October 22, 2026
For normal to dry skin, start with the Heimish Moringa Ceramide BB Cream SPF30 PA++ in 25N Medium ($21.99, dewy finish, mineral UV filters) or, once it's back in stock, the Dr. Jart+ Premium BB Beauty Balm with SPF 50. For oily skin or hot, humid days, the Cell Fusion C Water-Fit Recover BB Cream is the better match at $13.99, with a natural rather than dewy finish, SPF 40 PA+++ and three shades.
The other four each solve a narrower problem. Tonymoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream gives you the most product for the money, Dr. Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea BB is the vegan tinted-moisturizer option, Barulab Barusol Expert Velvet Serum BB Cream pairs SPF50+ PA+++ with a single Light Beige shade, and Banila Co it Radiant CC Cream is a color-correcting base that goes under BB cream or foundation rather than replacing it.
This is a researched comparison of current US brand and retailer information, checked October 2026. We haven't worn or tested any of these BB creams; texture, finish and coverage descriptions are the brands', and the buying advice comes from comparing formulas, SPF labels, directions, shades, sizes and prices. Prices are Sleepy Hello's, also checked October 2026.
If you came looking for Missha M Perfect Cover, the Korean BB cream most people search for in the US, we don't stock it, so we haven't compared its formula here. For a fuller-looking base from this list, look at Tonymoly, which claims strong coverage from a thin layer, and Dr. Jart+, which is built to layer.
Dr. Jart+ Premium BB Beauty Balm: SPF 50 and a four-shade range
The Dr. Jart+ Premium BB Beauty Balm in 01 Fair-Light, 40 ml is the most complete one-step product here. Our product page lists broad-spectrum SPF 50 from a blend of zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, octinoxate and octisalate, so it combines mineral and chemical UV filters. Dr. Jart+ describes a cushiony-soft cream with buildable coverage and a "radiant, looks-like-you finish".
The skincare side comes with stated percentages: 5% glycerin, a humectant that pulls water into the top layer of skin, and 2% niacinamide (vitamin B3), which Dr. Jart+ includes for skin-barrier support. The ingredient list opens with water, cyclopentasiloxane, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate (octinoxate), cyclohexasiloxane, zinc oxide, glycerin, titanium dioxide and ethylhexyl salicylate (octisalate). The two cyclic silicones give it slip and a quick dry-down.
The list also includes bergamot, lemon, lime, pine, orange and eucalyptus oils, plus the fragrance components linalool, citral and limonene. If scented formulas bother your skin, that is the main reason to pass on it.
Dr. Jart+ says to apply it after toner (moisturizer first is fine), warm a pea-size amount between your fingers, blend it over face and neck, let it dry down, then add more where you want coverage. The brand describes four shades across its range; Sleepy Hello carries 01 Fair-Light. It costs $39.99 for 40 ml, about $1.00 per ml and the most expensive tube here, and it is out of stock as of October 2026. The product page has a notify-me option.
Heimish Moringa Ceramide BB Cream: dewy, mineral filters, mid-price
The Heimish is our pick for dry or normal skin that wants glow without a high price. Heimish describes a lightweight, soft cream with natural-looking, layerable coverage and "a sheer, dewy-looking glow rather than a matte finish".
Its only UV filters are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, both mineral, which matters if chemical filters irritate your eyes. The ingredient list opens with water, cyclopentasiloxane, titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, glycerin, caprylic/capric triglyceride (a light emollient), PEG-10 dimethicone, dipropylene glycol, dimethicone and niacinamide. Moringa (drumstick) seed oil, panthenol, hyaluronic acid and ceramide NP, a skin-identical lipid, appear further down. The list also includes bergamot oil.
The label reads SPF30 PA++. PA is the Asian rating for UVA protection, running from PA+ to PA++++; more plus signs mean more UVA protection. Heimish's directions are to apply an even layer as the last step of skincare, then add another layer where you want more coverage, and the tube has a dropper tip for controlled dispensing.
It costs $21.99 for 30 g, about $0.73 per gram. We list one shade, 25N Medium; in Korean shade numbering, 25 is a medium shade and N means a neutral undertone.
Cell Fusion C Water-Fit Recover BB Cream: lightweight and built for heat
Cell Fusion C's BB cream is the light, practical option. The brand describes smooth, natural-looking coverage "without a heavy or cakey feel" that covers redness and blurs the look of pores for up to 24 hours, and says that in heat and sweat the coverage resists breakdown, smudging and lifting. It is labeled SPF 40 PA+++, and the color direction is a neutral ivory without strong yellow or red tones.
The ingredient list opens with water, titanium dioxide, dimethicone, methyl trimethicone, butylene glycol, C9-12 alkane, caprylic/capric triglyceride, cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 dimethicone, glycerin, isononyl isononanoate and niacinamide. Titanium dioxide is the only UV filter listed. Cell Fusion C says 74% of the formula is skin-caring ingredients, including niacinamide, panthenol, ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids. Methyl diisopropyl propionamide adds a brief cooling feel, and the list doesn't include fragrance or essential oils.
Apply a moderate amount as the final step of skincare, spread it over the whole face, then pat with fingers, a sponge or a cushion puff. Cell Fusion C recommends a thorough double cleanse at night. There are three shades with Korean shade guidance: Light for 17 to 19, Natural Light for 21 to 22 and Soft Beige for 23. Each is $13.99 for 30 ml, about $0.47 per ml.
Four more: Barulab, Tonymoly, Dr. Ceuracle and Banila Co
Barulab Barusol Expert Velvet Serum BB Cream: high SPF in one light shade
The Barulab Barusol Expert Velvet Serum BB Cream, 30 ml is labeled SPF50+ PA+++, the strongest rating among the in-stock BB creams here. Despite "velvet" in the name, Barulab describes a lightweight feel and a dewy finish, with buildable coverage that blurs the look of blemishes and pores. Our product page is candid that it may not suit you if high coverage is your priority.
Barulab says it contains seven plant-derived extracts and hydrating agents. Our page doesn't currently show a reliable full ingredient list, so we can't confirm its UV filters or fragrance status; check the carton if either matters to you. Spread a moderate amount from the broad areas of your face toward the narrow ones, then add more only where you want it. It comes in Light Beige only and costs $23.99 for 30 ml, about $0.80 per ml.
Tonymoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream: the most product for the price
At $12.99 for 45 g (about $0.29 per gram), Tonymoly's BB cream is the best value here. It is labeled SPF37 PA++ and comes in No. 1 Bright Beige and No. 2 Natural Beige. Tonymoly describes a smooth, creamy texture with strong, close-adhering coverage from a thin layer and "natural, silky luminosity", and says the formula is designed to resist discoloration and oxidation during wear.
Tonymoly doesn't publish the full ingredient list on our pages; it names glycerin and ceramide NP as the moisture-care ingredients. Start on a cleansed, moisturized face, apply a pea-sized amount and blend. The glow finish leans toward normal and dry skin.
Dr. Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea BB: a vegan tinted moisturizer
The Dr. Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea BB, 30 ml sits closest to a tinted moisturizer. Dr. Ceuracle calls it vegan, states 20% kombucha tea extract, and describes weightless, natural coverage with a dewy, second-skin finish. It is labeled SPF 30 PA++.
The ingredient list opens with green tea leaf water, green tea leaf extract, saccharomyces ferment filtrate, dipropylene glycol, caprylic/capric triglyceride, titanium dioxide and cyclopentasiloxane, with zinc oxide, niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate and panthenol further down. Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are the UV filters. Our product description says fragrance is included, but the ingredient list we show doesn't name it, so check the carton if you avoid scent.
It costs $15.99 for 30 ml (about $0.53 per ml) in the Original shade. A second shade, Warm Sand, is listed but out of stock as of October 2026.
Banila Co it Radiant CC Cream: a color-correcting base, not a BB
The Banila Co it Radiant CC Cream SPF17 PA++, 30 ml is a different kind of product. Banila Co calls it a color-correcting makeup base for dull, sallow, red or uneven-looking tone, and its directions are to apply it after skincare and follow with BB cream or foundation.
Its UV filters are ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, titanium dioxide, ethylhexyl salicylate and diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate. Mica, iron oxides and ultramarines supply the color-correcting tint, niacinamide is listed eleventh, and the list includes lavender flower extract but no added fragrance. At SPF17 PA++, it has the lowest rating here. It costs $19.99 for 30 ml, about $0.67 per ml.
What is the best Korean BB cream for oily skin?
Of these seven, the Cell Fusion C Water-Fit Recover BB Cream is the best choice for oily skin. Cell Fusion C describes a lightweight, natural finish rather than a dewy one, and the brand built its claims around holding up in heat and sweat.
If you want a true matte finish, one option outside this list is the belif UV Protector stand-by-you basic BB, 50 ml at $33.99. Belif describes a "smooth, fresh and matte" finish with an oil-control base and labels it SPF50+/PA++++. Its ingredient list includes several essential oils, including orange, lemon, bergamot and clove.
The dewy ones (Heimish, Tonymoly, Dr. Ceuracle and Barulab) add shine on top of the oil your skin already makes. Pair whichever you choose with a light gel moisturizer; our Korean moisturizers for oily skin guide covers the options.
How to choose a Korean BB cream
Shade first. Most Korean BB creams come in one to four shades that run from fair to medium, and the brands that publish shade guidance use Korean numbering, where lower numbers are lighter and 25 is roughly medium. Match your neck or jawline, not the back of your hand.
Finish second. Dewy suits dry or dull skin; natural or matte suits oily skin.
Then SPF. Count the rating as a bonus on top of sunscreen. The labels here range from SPF17 PA++ (Banila Co) to SPF 50 (Dr. Jart+) and SPF50+ PA+++ (Barulab).
Then scent. Dr. Jart+, Heimish and belif list essential oils, and Cell Fusion C lists none.
What is the difference between a Korean BB cream and a CC cream?
A BB cream is a one-step tinted base that combines coverage, skincare ingredients and usually SPF. A CC ("color correcting") cream focuses on evening out tone such as sallowness or redness, often with lighter coverage. Banila Co's CC cream is meant to go under BB cream or foundation, while the BB creams here are designed to be worn alone.
BB cream vs tinted sunscreen: which should you use?
Use a tinted sunscreen if sun protection is the main job and you only want a sheer tint, and a BB cream if coverage is the main job. A tinted sunscreen is applied in a full sunscreen amount, while BB creams are applied by the pea-size. Our Korean tinted sunscreen guide compares the SPF-first options.
Do Korean BB creams come in darker shades?
Mostly no. Among the seven here, the widest range is Dr. Jart+'s four shades, and the Cell Fusion C shades stop at Korean 23. If your skin is deeper than a medium 25, a sheer tinted sunscreen or a foundation with a wider shade range is the more realistic choice.
Is Dr. Jart+ Premium BB Beauty Balm good for dry skin?
Yes, on paper it suits dry skin well. It has 5% glycerin and 2% niacinamide, Dr. Jart+ describes a cushiony cream with a radiant finish, and the directions allow a moisturizer underneath; a ceramide cream such as the one in our Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin cream review is a natural partner. If your dry skin is also easily irritated, note the essential oils and fragrance components in the list.
Can a BB cream with SPF replace sunscreen?
Usually not. SPF ratings are measured at 2 milligrams of product per square centimeter of skin, roughly a quarter teaspoon for the face, and BB creams are applied far more thinly. Wear a dedicated sunscreen after moisturizer and before your BB cream, and count the BB cream's SPF as extra.
Yes, for gentle hydration: start with the $16.99 Dive-In serum, add Dive-In Cream for dry skin, Soothing Cream for combination or Balanceful Cica for oily.
