Korean collagen masks: Medicube PDRN Pink is the closest Biodance match, VT the best value
Updated October 22, 2026
If you want the Biodance-style experience, a hydrogel you wear for hours or overnight while it turns clear, compare the Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask, 4 sheets at $19.99 with the VT Collagen Reedle Shot 100 2-Step Hydrogel Mask, 4 sets at $15.99: VT is the better value per use, and Medicube is the simpler one-step sheet. If you would rather mask for 20 minutes than three hours, Abib's single Heartleaf jelly sheet or Mediheal's 10-pack Collagen Nude Gel Mask fits better.
One expectation first: the collagen in these masks conditions the surface of your skin and helps hold water there. It doesn't add collagen to your skin, and the plumper look afterwards is hydration.
This is a researched comparison of current US brand and retailer information, checked October 2026. We haven't worn or tested these masks; texture and wear descriptions are each brand's, and the buying advice comes from comparing formulas, directions, sheet counts and prices. Biodance isn't sold at Sleepy Hello, so its details come from our Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask review.
Do collagen masks actually increase collagen in your skin?
No. None of these brands publishes evidence that its mask adds collagen to your skin, and how collagen behaves in a cosmetic explains why. Collagen, even in hydrolyzed form, is a large, water-loving protein. On skin it works as a conditioning film and a humectant, an ingredient that attracts water and holds it in the top layer. The collagen your skin makes lives in the dermis, well below where a mask's ingredients stay.
The amounts are often smaller than the names suggest. VT's list declares collagen water at 0.979 ppm and collagen extract at 0.002 ppm, and Abib's collagen extract is declared at 0.1 ppm. The moisture comes mostly from the base: water, glycerin, glycols, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid.
What you can expect is a short-term cosmetic change: skin holding more water looks smoother and plumper, and dryness lines look softer until that water evaporates. The brand-published results on these product pages measure surface moisture, radiance, pore appearance or elasticity after use; none measures collagen in the skin.
Long-wear collagen gel masks: three hours to overnight
These four list a session of three hours or more, or overnight, which is the Biodance format. All are hydrogels, and most lists include gelling ingredients such as carrageenan (listed as chondrus crispus), carob gum, cellulose gum and potassium chloride.
Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask: the closest Biodance look-alike
Each box holds four sachets with a 28 g sheet in each, cut into an upper and a lower piece. Medicube describes the sheet as arriving pink and slowly clearing while you wear it. The directions put it on after toner or serum for around three hours in the day, or as the last step at night, lifted off when you get up.
The list opens with water, glycerin, methylpropanediol, an acrylates copolymer, niacinamide and carrageenan, then betaine, carob gum, allantoin, panthenol and adenosine. Further down sit hydrolyzed collagen, ascorbic acid, sodium DNA (the INCI name for PDRN, which Medicube sources from salmon) and a long run of peptides, from acetyl hexapeptide-8 to copper tripeptide-1. The list includes no fragrance, and Medicube says it leaves out artificial color.
It suits dehydrated skin and anyone who wants the most supporting ingredients in one sheet. Medicube does not recommend using it with a device's sheet-mask mode. It costs $19.99 for four, about $5.00 a sheet at Sleepy Hello, checked October 2026.
Each of the four sets pairs a Step 1 sachet of Collagen Reedle Shot 100 essence with a Step 2 face-shaped hydrogel, 34.5 g per set. VT says the essence contains CICA REEDLE spicule micro-particles and may bring a microneedling-like sensation, a prickle a plain gel mask doesn't have. Massage Step 1 in, avoiding the eye area and broken skin, then place the lower piece first.
The wear window is the widest here: about 20 to 40 minutes, 2 to 3 hours, or overnight, and VT describes the sheet changing from opaque to translucent. The list on our page starts with water, dipropylene glycol, niacinamide, glycerin, butylene glycol and macadamia seed oil, and adds sodium hyaluronate, centella compounds (madecassoside, asiaticoside), milk protein extract and propolis extract. The printed list includes no fragrance.
It costs $15.99 for four sets, about $4.00 a use, or $4.99 for a single VT Collagen Reedle Shot set to try the sensation first. The single-set page lists 2 to 3 hours as its longest option; overnight appears on the four-pack page.
Sungboon Editor Deep Collagen Power Boosting Mask: the richest formula
The Sungboon Editor Deep Collagen Power Boosting Mask comes four to a box, 37 g each. Sungboon Editor directs 30 to 40 minutes for quick care, or at least three hours or overnight for intensive care, and says the sheet becomes transparent during longer wear.
Its list opens with collagen extract, dipropylene glycol, niacinamide, two emollients (cetyl ethylhexanoate and caprylic/capric triglyceride), carrageenan, panthenol and shea butter. The brand adds four ceramides (AP, NS, NP and EOP), six forms of hyaluronic acid and nine named peptides. The list also includes peppermint, spearmint and apple mint leaf extracts, so skip it if mint bothers your skin.
The shea butter and ceramides make it our pick for dry skin that wants cushion as well as water. It costs $16.99 for four, about $4.25 a sheet.
Cell Fusion C Glass Skin Collagen Mask: the cheapest long-wear sheet
The Cell Fusion C Glass Skin Collagen Mask has five two-piece masks of 35 g each. Cell Fusion C suggests about 40 minutes for a standard session, or more than three hours or overnight, followed by a face cream. It says the gel gradually turns transparent, with timing that varies from person to person.
The list printed on our page starts with glycerin, dipropylene glycol, niacinamide, cetyl ethylhexanoate, carob gum and a polyglyceryl emollient, then carrageenan, diglycerin and panthenol, with shea butter, sodium hyaluronate, collagen extract and atelocollagen further down. The product page says the formula contains fragrance, though the printed list doesn't name it, so check the box if you avoid fragrance.
The pitch is glow for dull-looking skin at the lowest long-wear price: $15.99 for five, about $3.20 a sheet.
Twenty-minute collagen gel masks: Abib and Mediheal
Both are hydrogels too, but their brands direct a short session that suits a weeknight.
Abib Collagen Gel Mask Heartleaf Jelly: single sheets, no added fragrance
The Abib Collagen Gel Mask Heartleaf Jelly is one 35 g sheet with no mesh backing. Lay the lower half on first, embossed side down, and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes. Abib warns that the backing-free jelly tears easily and dries fast in air, so open it right before use.
The list starts with water, glycerin, methylpropanediol, isopentyldiol, niacinamide and butylene glycol, followed by carrageenan, collagen extract and heartleaf (houttuynia cordata) extract. Centella, panthenol and calamine are the calming group Abib highlights, with kaolin mid-list and xylitol plus apple mint for the cool feel. Abib describes its collagen as vegan and yeast-fermented and holds V-Label certification for the mask. The ingredient list includes no fragrance or essential oil, and its only alcohol is cetearyl alcohol, a waxy fatty alcohol.
Abib positions it for combination and oily skin after a long or warm day, at $3.39 a sheet. The same format comes as Jericho Rose Jelly, built around Jericho rose extract and trehalose, and Sedum Jelly, with eight hyaluronic acid forms, both $3.39.
Mediheal Collagen Nude Gel Mask: the 10-pack for regular use
The Mediheal Collagen Nude Gel Mask holds ten masks of 30 mL each. Mediheal directs 10 to 20 minutes after cleansing and toning, embossed side against the skin, and says to use each mask straight after opening.
Water, butylene glycol, carrageenan, niacinamide, carob gum, 1,2-hexanediol, glycerin and agar lead the list, and three collagens follow later: hydrolyzed collagen, collagen and atelocollagen. The list also includes rosa damascena flower oil, a fragrant rose oil.
At $34.99 for ten, about $3.50 a sheet, it is the easiest box to use weekly.
Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask vs VT Collagen Reedle Shot: which is better value?
VT is the better value on price and flexibility: about $4.00 a use against $5.00 for Medicube, with a wear window from 20 minutes to overnight. Medicube is the better buy if you want one step, no spicule prickle and the longer supporting list of PDRN, hydrolyzed collagen and peptides.
Pick VT if you like the Reedle Shot feel, or want a short session on busy nights and a long one at weekends. Pick Medicube if your skin is easily irritated by spicule essences, or you want the closest single-sheet match to Biodance, turn-clear change included.
What is a good alternative to the Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask?
The Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask is the closest match. Per our Biodance review, the Real Deep Mask is a 34 g two-piece hydrogel worn three to four hours or until transparent, or overnight, and Biodance says its collagen is fish-derived. Its US store listed four masks for $19 when that review was checked in September 2026, about $4.75 each. Medicube matches the two-piece cut, the turn-clear change (its sheet starts pink), the multi-hour wear and the four-sheet box at about $5.00 a sheet.
For a lower price with the same turn-clear, long-wear idea, Sungboon Editor ($4.25) and Cell Fusion C ($3.20) are the alternatives. For a vegan collagen claim, Abib is the only one here, though it is a 20-minute sheet.
If you like the overnight idea but not a sheet on your face, the Medicube Collagen Night Wrapping Mask, 75 ml is the non-sheet option. Apply it as the last step after your cream, let it dry for about 15 minutes into a film, and peel it off or rinse it in the morning. Its list leads with water, polyvinyl alcohol (the film former), glycerin, agave stem extract and sodium hyaluronate, with ceramide NP and collagen extract near the end; it lists no fragrance. It costs $16.99, and Medicube doesn't publish how many uses a jar gives. For collagen in a daily cream instead, see our Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream review.
How to choose a Korean collagen mask
Time you have: 20 to 30 minutes points to Abib or Mediheal; three hours or overnight points to Medicube, Sungboon Editor, Cell Fusion C or VT.
Ingredients you avoid: Cell Fusion C's page says its formula contains fragrance, and rose oil appears in Mediheal; mint extracts appear in Sungboon Editor and Abib; VT's Step 1 contains spicules.
Skin type: dry skin leans to Sungboon Editor for its shea butter and ceramides; Abib aims its Heartleaf sheet at combination and oily skin.
Animal-derived ingredients: Medicube's PDRN comes from salmon and VT lists milk protein; Abib describes its collagen as vegan.
What is the difference between a hydrogel collagen mask and a sheet mask?
A sheet mask is a cloth or fiber sheet soaked in liquid essence; a hydrogel is the essence itself set into a jelly. Hydrogels cling closer, drip less and stay moist longer, which is why most of these brands allow hours of wear, while a woven sheet usually comes off after 15 to 20 minutes. Hydrogels tear more easily, so peel them gently.
Can you sleep in a Korean collagen mask?
Yes, if the brand lists overnight wear: Medicube PDRN Pink, the VT four-pack, Sungboon Editor and Cell Fusion C all do, and the Medicube Night Wrapping Mask is made for it. Abib and Mediheal direct 20 to 30 and 10 to 20 minutes. If long wear is new to you, a daytime session first shows whether the edges stay put.
How often should you use a collagen gel mask?
Once or twice a week for the long-wear sheets and a few times a week for the 20-minute sheets is our take, if your skin stays comfortable. None of these six product pages sets a weekly limit; the long-wear pace reflects the time and the $3 to $5 cost. Keep VT's spicule essence off nights you use strong acids or retinoids.
Which collagen gel masks are fragrance-free?
Abib's Heartleaf list includes no fragrance or essential oil, and neither Medicube PDRN Pink nor the Medicube Night Wrapping Mask lists fragrance. Mediheal includes rose flower oil, and Cell Fusion C's product page says its formula contains fragrance.
Can you reuse a hydrogel mask?
No. Mediheal and VT both say to use each mask once, and the jelly dries out soon after opening. Pat any leftover essence in before your moisturizer.
Pick Medicube's Collagen Night Wrapping Mask for frequent overnight use at well under $1 a night; the PDRN Gel Mask is a $5-a-sheet occasional hydrogel.
Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask: a 28 g hydrogel sheet worn 3-4 hours or overnight, about $5 a use, and when the Night Wrapping Mask is a better buy.
