Ceramides
Barrier-supporting lipids that help reduce moisture loss and ease visible dryness.
Anua's Rice 70 Intensive Moisturizing Milk is a pourable lotion rather than a cream, dispensed from a 150ml pump and thin enough to sink in without leaving a film. The carton calls it RICE 70 + CERAMIDE, and that shorthand describes the formula accurately.
Rice bran water heads the ingredient list at 71 percent, so the fluid doing the carrying here is rice rather than plain water — ordinary water does not appear until eleventh place. Niacinamide sits fifth. Four further rice materials follow lower down: an extract, a seed protein, a hydrolyzed protein and a trace of bran oil, each declared with its own concentration figure.
The barrier half is unusually complete. Five ceramides are listed — NP, AS, AP, NS and EOP — alongside cholesterol, phytosphingosine, palmitic acid and stearic acid, which is the lipid set skin builds its own barrier from rather than a token single ceramide. Three molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, plus ectoin, adenosine and allantoin, cover the water-binding side.
Two things to weigh. Coconut oil sits fourteenth and Anua publishes no non-comedogenic testing for this lotion, so congestion-prone skin should introduce it slowly. Anua also sells a Rice 70 toner and a rice enzyme powder; this is the leave-on lotion of that trio, and the three are not interchangeable.

A tight, papery feel that wants a water-binding layer held in place by lipids.
A surface that stings or flushes easily and needs its lipid set replaced, not just topped up.
Skin that reads flat and matte when you want it to look awake and softly lit.
An uneven, slightly rough surface that settles once hydration is held rather than lost.
The first ingredient is rice bran water at 71 percent. Ordinary water is only the eleventh entry on the panel.
Ceramide NP, AS, AP, NS and EOP are joined by cholesterol, phytosphingosine, palmitic acid and stearic acid.
