Is Mixsoon good? Yes, for simple hydration: which essence to start with
Updated October 22, 2026
Yes. Mixsoon is a good brand if you want plain, low-fuss hydration: its essences have very short ingredient lists, and the 100 ml Galactomyces and Soondy Centella bottles work out at about 21 cents per ml. Start with Bean Essence, 50 ml if your skin feels rough and dehydrated, Galactomyces Ferment Essence, 100 ml if it looks dull and you want a low price per ml, or Soondy Centella Asiatica Essence, 100 ml if it is easily irritated and red-looking.
Where Mixsoon is ordinary is depth. Most of its essences are one featured ingredient in water or butylene glycol, so you are paying for simplicity rather than a layered formula, and several bottles do overlapping jobs.
This is a researched guide to current US brand and retailer information, checked October 2026. We haven't worn or tested these products; texture descriptions are Mixsoon's, and the buying advice comes from comparing formulas, directions, sizes and prices.
Is Mixsoon a good brand?
Mixsoon is good at one specific thing: single-focus essences in matching bottles, each built around one featured ingredient family and labeled vegan, fragrance-free and alcohol-free. The short lists show exactly what you are buying. Galactomyces Ferment Essence prints two ingredients with their percentages; Soondy Centella prints three ingredients, without percentages.
The limits are worth knowing before you build a routine from it:
Short is not the same as strong. Apart from Galactomyces (60% galactomyces ferment filtrate), the full-size essence pages we checked don't print how much of the headline ingredient is in the bottle. The trial kit's sachet list prints 100,000 ppm (10%) centella extract for Soondy Centella, but it also puts bifida ingredients under the toner heading, so we wouldn't rely on it.
The bottles overlap. All four essences are sold for hydration first, and the Centella Asiatica Toner publishes almost the same short list as the Soondy Centella essence.
Bean Cream is not in the fragrance-free group. Its ingredient list includes bergamot fruit oil and lavender, and the 50 ml page also lists chamomile flower oil.
Some listings disagree. Our 100 ml Bifida page lists only bifida ferment extract, while the 30 ml page lists water, butylene glycol, bifida ferment extract and glycerin. If one ingredient matters to you, read the carton.
Mixsoon also prints percentage "results" on some pages, such as Bean Essence, without clearly describing what they were compared against. We haven't used them in this guide.
Which Mixsoon essence is right for your skin?
Match the essence to your main complaint: Bean for rough, dehydrated skin; Galactomyces for dull, dehydrated skin; Bifida for dry skin that loses moisture quickly and feels stressed; Soondy Centella for easily irritated, red-looking skin. Mixsoon describes all four as lightweight and quick-absorbing, and all four go on after cleansing and toner.
Bean Essence: rough, dehydrated skin
Bean Essence is the most-searched Mixsoon product, and the only one of the four with an exfoliating angle. The list we checked names four ferments: soybean ferment extract, pomegranate fruit ferment extract, barley seed ferment filtrate and pear juice ferment filtrate. Mixsoon says the soybean ferment supports a nourished feel and the pomegranate ferment supports gentle exfoliation. The page copy also mentions glycerin, which isn't on the printed list, another reason to check the box.
It is labeled vegan, fragrance-free and alcohol-free. Daily, you pat a few drops over the face and neck. For the optional evening massage, you work a few pumps in with your fingertips, wipe the loosened residue with a warm towel or toner pad, then moisturize; the 30 ml page says to keep that massage to once or twice a week.
The 50 ml bottle is $20.99 at Sleepy Hello, checked October 2026 ($0.42 per ml). The 30 ml Bean Essence is $16.99 ($0.57 per ml). Our Mixsoon Bean Essence review goes deeper on the massage method.
This is the simplest formula in the range: galactomyces ferment filtrate (60%) and butylene glycol (40%), nothing else. Galactomyces ferment filtrate is the liquid left after a yeast ferment, which Mixsoon describes as containing vitamins, amino acids and minerals; butylene glycol is a humectant that draws water into the top layer of skin. Mixsoon pitches it for moisture and a "soft, radiant-looking finish," with dry or dull skin as the best fit.
At $20.99 for 100 ml ($0.21 per ml), it costs half as much per ml as Bean Essence. The 30 ml Galactomyces Ferment Essence is $11.99 ($0.40 per ml) if you want to try it first.
Bifida Ferment Essence: dry skin that wants barrier support
Bifida is the essence Mixsoon positions for barrier support: it says the formula hydrates, helps reduce moisture loss and soothes skin that feels stressed. Bifida ferment extract is a ferment-derived ingredient, and Mixsoon says its ingredients go through a 72-hour fermentation. Besides patting it on, the brand suggests a 10-minute cotton-pad mask or decanting it into a mist bottle.
Soondy Centella lists water, butylene glycol and centella asiatica extract. Mixsoon says the centella comes from its own farm on Jeju and is extracted at low temperature over 72 hours, and it describes the essence as helping calm the look of visible redness while replenishing moisture. It is labeled vegan, fragrance-free and alcohol-free.
The 100 ml bottle is $20.99 ($0.21 per ml). Skip the 30 ml size: at $18.00 it is $0.60 per ml, almost the same money for less than a third of the essence.
What is the difference between Mixsoon Bean Essence and Galactomyces Essence?
Bean Essence is a blend of four fruit and grain ferments aimed at rough texture as well as hydration; Galactomyces is a two-ingredient yeast ferment essence aimed at hydration and a brighter-looking finish. Pick Bean if roughness or flaky buildup is your main complaint, and Galactomyces if your skin mostly looks tired and thirsty.
The practical differences:
Formula. Bean lists soybean, pomegranate, barley and pear ferments. Galactomyces lists 60% galactomyces ferment filtrate and 40% butylene glycol.
Job. Mixsoon gives Bean a gentle exfoliating role through the pomegranate ferment and the optional massage. Galactomyces has no exfoliating claim, so it is the easier one to pair with an acid toner or retinoid you already use.
Price. Bean is $20.99 for 50 ml. Galactomyces is $20.99 for 100 ml, so you get twice as much for the same money.
Texture. Mixsoon calls both lightweight and non-greasy, and calls Bean non-sticky. Neither page gives more detail than that.
If you are still unsure, the 9 Step Trial Kit is $1.89 and includes sachets of all four essences.
Can you use Mixsoon Bean Essence and Bean Cream together?
Yes. They sit at different steps: the essence goes on after toner, and Bean Cream, 65 ml goes on last as your moisturizer. They share the same four ferments, so the cream mainly adds a moisturizing base on top of what the essence already gives you.
That base is a fairly conventional cream. The first ingredients are water, glycerin, caprylic/capric triglyceride, hydrogenated polyisobutene, polyglyceryl-3 distearate and hydrogenated coco-glycerides, with meadowfoam seed oil, panthenol and adenosine further down. Glycerin is a humectant; triglyceride, polyisobutene and meadowfoam oil are emollients that soften skin and slow water loss. Mixsoon describes the texture as "rich yet lightweight" and says it helps limit moisture loss.
A simple order that follows the brand's directions:
Cleanse, then apply toner.
Pat in a few drops of Bean Essence until absorbed.
Smooth on a moderate amount of Bean Cream as the last skincare step, morning or night. Mixsoon suggests two or three layers when you want more moisture.
In the morning, finish with sunscreen.
On a massage night, wipe away the essence residue before the cream, and skip any exfoliating acid that evening. If you avoid essential oils, the cream is the one to reconsider, because its list includes bergamot and lavender. The 65 ml jar is $23.99 ($0.37 per ml); the 50 ml Bean Cream is $20.99 ($0.42 per ml). Our Mixsoon Bean Cream review covers the cream on its own.
The toner, serum and cleansing oil
These three cost less than the full-size essences, and each has one plain job.
Centella Asiatica Toner
Centella Asiatica Toner, 150 ml lists water, butylene glycol, 1,2-hexanediol and centella asiatica extract, and is made without alcohol, fragrance or added dye. Mixsoon describes it as watery and quick-absorbing. You can pat it on, sweep it on with a cotton pad, or soak pads for a toner mask of up to 10 minutes.
At $9.99 for 150 ml ($0.07 per ml) it is the budget version of the Soondy idea. The 300 ml Centella Asiatica Toner is $17.99 ($0.06 per ml); its page describes the formula as "100% Centella Asiatica Extract," which doesn't match the 150 ml list, so check the bottle.
Glacier Water Hyaluronic Acid Serum
Glacier Water Hyaluronic Acid Serum, 100 ml is one of two products here, with Galactomyces, that print every percentage: water 86.4%, glacier water 5%, butylene glycol 5%, 1,2-hexanediol 3% and sodium hyaluronate 0.6%. Sodium hyaluronate is the salt form of hyaluronic acid, a humectant that holds water in the skin. Mixsoon describes a cooling, quick-absorbing feel. Apply two or three drops to damp skin, pat in, and follow with moisturizer. It is $15.99 ($0.16 per ml), but you don't need it if you already own a hyaluronic serum.
Bean Cleansing Oil
Bean Cleansing Oil, 100 ml is a first cleanse for makeup and sunscreen. Its list opens with ethylhexyl palmitate (a light emollient ester), sorbeth-30 tetraoleate (the emulsifier that lets it rinse off with water), triethylhexanoin, soybean oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride and jojoba seed oil. Use two or three pumps on a dry face with dry hands, add a little water to turn it milky, rinse, then follow with a foam cleanser. It is $9.99 ($0.10 per ml); the 195 ml Bean Cleansing Oil is $16.99 ($0.09 per ml).
Which Mixsoon product should I start with?
Start with one essence, chosen by your main complaint, and keep the rest of your routine as it is for a few weeks. Adding several bottles at once hides which one is working.
Rough, dehydrated skin: Bean Essence 50 ml. Add Bean Cream only if your current moisturizer isn't keeping up.
Dull, dehydrated skin on a budget: Galactomyces 100 ml, tied with Soondy for the lowest price per ml among the essences.
Easily irritated, red-looking skin: Soondy Centella 100 ml, or the Centella Toner 150 ml if you want the cheapest entry.
Dry skin that feels tight again by midday: Bifida, starting with the 30 ml bottle because the 100 ml is $32.00.
Can't decide: the 9 Step Trial Kit, which also includes the cleansing oil and foam, toner, Bean Cream and a sun cream sachet.
What to skip: the 30 ml Soondy (the 100 ml is only $2.99 more), a second hydrating serum if you already have one, and the full three-essence routine unless one essence alone leaves you wanting more. Mixsoon's optional layering order is Galactomyces, then Bifida, then Centella, but that is three bottles doing broadly the same job.
Yes. Mixsoon is a South Korean skincare brand; its US site calls it a "Premium Korean Skincare Brand," and our Soondy Centella page says the centella comes from Mixsoon's farm on Jeju, the island off Korea's south coast.
Is Mixsoon good for sensitive skin?
The four essences and the Centella Toner are a sensible place to look, because they are labeled fragrance-free and alcohol-free and list four or fewer ingredients. A short list doesn't guarantee your skin will tolerate it, so try one new product on a small area first. Bean Cream's list includes bergamot and lavender oils.
Is Mixsoon vegan?
Mostly: our product pages label the four essences, Bean Cream and Bean Cleansing Oil as vegan; the toner and serum pages don't say. Mixsoon's US homepage doesn't make a cruelty-free statement, so we don't claim one.
How do you use Mixsoon Bean Essence?
After cleansing and toner, pat a few drops over your face and neck until absorbed, then moisturize. The optional evening massage, once or twice a week, uses a few pumps worked in with your fingertips, followed by a warm towel or toner pad and moisturizer.
Which Mixsoon size is the best value?
The 100 ml essences, at $0.21 per ml for Galactomyces and Soondy Centella. Bean Essence only comes in 30 ml and 50 ml here, and the 50 ml is the better buy at $0.42 per ml.
Yes, for gentle hydration: start with the $16.99 Dive-In serum, add Dive-In Cream for dry skin, Soothing Cream for combination or Balanceful Cica for oily.
Haruharu Wonder is good-value hydration: start with the fragrance-free Sensitive toner, then the unscented cream for dry skin or the gel cream if oily.
Anua skincare reviewed by routine role: compare six US formulas, fragrance, overlapping ingredients and prices before buying a toner, serum or moisturizer.
